Below are short summaries of each supported organization and the work they do to protect wildlife, conserve habitats, and rescue animals. Links are included if you’d like to learn more about their missions.

Wildlife and Conservation Organizations:

Alaska Wildlife Rescue (AWR)


Purpose: Alaska Wildlife Rescue rescues injured, orphaned, and at-risk wildlife across the state, providing emergency care, and veterinary support.

Impact: The organization assists a wide range of native species including bears, moose, birds of prey, foxes, wolves, and marine wildlife through rescue and rehabilitation programs. They also work with local communities and authorities to respond to wildlife emergencies and promote conservation of Alaska’s native species.

 

 

Alaska Wilderness League


Motto: Protect Alaska’s wild lands and waters

Purpose: The Alaska Wilderness League works to safeguard Alaska’s public lands and wildlife by advocating against oil drilling, mining, and industrial development in sensitive ecosystems.

Impact: The organization has played a major role in campaigns protecting areas like the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, helping defend habitat for bears, caribou, migratory birds, and thousands of Arctic species.

Center for Biological Diversity


Motto: Saving Life on Earth

Purpose: The Center for Biological Diversity works to protect endangered species and the habitats they depend on through science, public advocacy, and legal action.

Impact: Since 1989, the organization has helped secure Endangered Species Act protections for more than 760 species and contributed to protecting over 500 million acres of habitat across the United States.

Re:wild


Motto: For All Wildkind

Purpose: Re:wild is a global conservation organization working to protect and restore ecosystems while preventing species extinction by partnering with scientists, Indigenous communities, and conservation groups worldwide.

Impact: The organization supports conservation across 565+ million acres in over 360 protected areas and helps protect 260+ threatened species, benefiting tens of thousands of species through habitat protection and restoration.

 

Orphaned Wildlife Center


Purpose: The Orphaned Wildlife Center is a wildlife rescue and sanctuary dedicated to caring for orphaned and injured animals—especially bears—while preparing those that can survive in the wild for eventual release. Animals that cannot return to the wild are given lifelong sanctuary in large natural enclosures.

Impact: The sanctuary currently cares for 8 rescued bears of various species, including brown bears and Kodiak bears, living in large natural enclosures designed to mimic wild habitat.

Planting Peace – Elephant Rescue Campaign


Purpose: Through its elephant rescue campaigns, Planting Peace works to free elephants forced into logging, tourist riding camps, and other forms of captivity across Southeast Asia. The organization raises funds to buy abused elephants out of captivity and relocate them to ethical sanctuaries where they can live freely.

Impact: Since 2017, Planting Peace has helped free numerous elephants from chains and forced labor, relocating them to sanctuaries in Thailand and Laos.


Some rescues have been funded within days through public donations, raising tens of thousands of dollars to secure an elephant’s freedom and relocate them safely.

Sheldrick Wildlife Trust


Motto: Hope for generations to come

Purpose: The Sheldrick Wildlife Trust protects elephants and other wildlife across Kenya through rescue, rehabilitation, anti-poaching efforts, veterinary care, and habitat protection. It operates the most successful orphaned elephant rescue and rehabilitation program in the world.

Impact: Since its founding, the organization has successfully raised over 320 orphaned elephants, treated 14,000+ wildlife veterinary cases, and operates 29 anti-poaching teams working to protect elephants and other species in the wild.

Saving The Wild


Motto: Protecting wildlife where they live

Purpose: Saving The Wild funds and equips frontline anti-poaching teams across Africa to protect endangered wildlife such as rhinos and elephants. These ranger teams patrol protected areas, remove snares, intercept poachers, and respond to wildlife emergencies to safeguard threatened species.

Impact: Saving The Wild currently supports over 10 anti-poaching ranger teams across Africa.


Save A Fox Rescue


Purpose: Save A Fox Rescue is one of the largest fox rescue organizations in the United States, dedicated to rescuing foxes from fur farms, neglect situations, and the exotic pet trade while educating the public about fox welfare.

Impact: The organization has rescued hundreds of foxes and other animals, providing sanctuary, veterinary care, and lifelong homes while raising awareness about the realities of the fur industry.

Project Hiu


Motto: Stop the killing. Start the change

Purpose: Project Hiu works in Indonesia to stop the shark and ray trade by helping fishing communities transition away from shark fishing and toward sustainable livelihoods like ecotourism and conservation work.

Impact: The organization has helped save over 6,000 sharks by preventing fishing expeditions and employing former shark fishermen in conservation tourism.


Marine Conservation Institute


Motto: Securing permanent, strong protection for the ocean’s most important places

Purpose: Marine Conservation Institute works to protect the ocean through science, policy advocacy, and the creation of marine protected areas around the world.

Impact: Their work has helped protect millions of square kilometers of ocean habitat, safeguarding biodiversity and helping restore marine ecosystems.

Plastic Oceans International


Motto: Ending plastic pollution

Purpose: Plastic Oceans International works to reduce global plastic pollution through education, science, policy advocacy, and corporate partnerships aimed at reducing single-use plastics.

Impact: Their initiatives have helped educate millions of people worldwide about plastic pollution while supporting programs that reduce plastic waste entering the oceans.

Save The Reef


Purpose: Save The Reef focuses on protecting coral reef ecosystems by supporting reef restoration projects, marine conservation initiatives, and public education about the threats facing coral reefs worldwide.

Impact: Through restoration and conservation efforts, the organization works to protect fragile coral reef habitats and the marine life that depends on them.

 

Animal rescues and shelters

 

Promise 4 Paws


Purpose: Promise 4 Paws is a rescue focused on saving dogs from high-kill shelters and dangerous situations, providing medical care, training, foster homes, and adoption opportunities.

Impact: Since 2018, they have rescued and rehomed hundreds of animals and have transport programs that move up to 145 at-risk animals at a time from overcrowded shelters to areas where adoptive homes are available.


I have personally worked with them on a rescue before, and they went above and beyond for my rescue, Lilac, who is still in their care.

Starts With One Today


Purpose: Starts With One Today is a nonprofit that provides essential resources — food, supplies, medical care, and advocacy — to homeless people, children, and their companion animals in Skid Row and beyond.

Impact: The organization operates on the front lines in communities where animals are abused or abandoned, offering emergency rescue, veterinary care, vaccinations, and foster placement; in one documented instance, they helped rescue a dog abandoned on a rooftop in Los Angeles and connected her with medical care and a foster home.

FurryTail Endings


Purpose: FurryTail Endings is a rescue organization dedicated to helping abandoned and vulnerable animals find safe homes through rescue, rehabilitation, and adoption programs.

Impact: Through rescue operations, foster networks, and adoption programs, the organization has saved and rehomed hundreds of animals, many coming from overcrowded shelters or dangerous living conditions.

All Seated In A Barn


Purpose: The organization focuses on saving equines from auctions and kill pens where they are at risk of being shipped to slaughter in Mexico or Canada, then providing medical care, rehabilitation, and adoption into safe homes.

Impact:  Since its founding in 2018, All Seated in a Barn has rescued over 3,000 horses and donkeys from the slaughter pipeline, providing rehabilitation, veterinary care, and second-chance homes.

Dolly’s Dream House Rabbit Rescue



Motto: Rescue, rehabilitate, rehome — one bunny at a time

Purpose: Dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming domestic rabbits, including special-needs, abandoned, or neglected bunnies, while providing proper medical care and education about rabbit welfare.

Impact: Hundreds of rabbits have been rescued, rehabilitated, and placed in loving homes, with ongoing public education to reduce future neglect.

 

Goats of Anarchy


Motto: Different is beautiful

Purpose: Goats of Anarchy rescues goats and other farm animals born with disabilities or special medical needs and provides specialized care, prosthetics, and rehabilitation.

Impact: The sanctuary currently provides lifelong care for over 250 rescued animals, including around 150 goats, many requiring prosthetics, wheelchairs, or long-term medical treatment.

 

Dejan Vucjak Shelter


Purpose: The Dejan Vucjak Shelter rescues and cares for stray and abandoned dogs—many from extremely dangerous or neglected conditions—providing food, medical care, and shelter.

Impact: They currently care for over 1,000–1,600 rescued animals, mostly dogs, and helped place around 300 dogs into adoptive homes in 2019 alone across Europe and North America.

 

 

Kiki’s P.A.W Club


Purpose: Kiki’s P.A.W Club focuses on rescuing stray and abandoned animals while promoting spay/neuter programs and responsible pet care within local communities.

Impact: Through rescue operations, adoptions, and community outreach, the organization has saved and rehomed hundreds of animals while helping reduce stray animal populations.

 

Compassion Kind Foundation


Purpose: Compassion Kind Foundation works globally to reduce suffering for humans and non‑human animals through humane advocacy, animal rescue, disaster relief, and community support projects.

Impact: Compassion Kind Foundation has responded to 17 major natural disasters worldwide, rescuing animals left behind after storms and crises while providing care, shelter, and relocation to safety. Their work has helped rescue over 17,800 animals, including 156 animals saved following Hurricane Dorian in the Bahamas.

Empathy Unlimited Foundation



Purpose: Empathy Unlimited Foundation rescues and rehabilitates stray and abandoned animals in the Mumbai region, providing medical care and a lifelong sanctuary for animals that have suffered extreme abuse, injury, or neglect. The organization focuses especially on vulnerable street dogs like senior, disabled, and paralyzed animals who would otherwise struggle to survive on the streets.

Impact: Since its founding, the foundation has carried out 6,000+ animal rescues and currently provides care and sanctuary for 450+ animals, many of whom require long-term medical treatment or specialized support.

CUDDLY


Purpose: CUDDLY is a fundraising and wishlist platform that helps animal rescues and shelters raise the resources they need to care for animals in need. By enabling fundraisers, wishlists, and purchase‑linked donations, CUDDLY supports a global network of animal welfare organizations.

Impact: Since 2014, CUDDLY’s community has helped raise over $116 million in donations from more than 400,000 donors, helping tens of thousands of animals in need; in 2025 alone they donated over 25,000 meals and 10,000+ blankets to animals through partnerships with rescue organizations.

Soi Dog Foundation


Motto: To improve the welfare of dogs and cats in Asia

Purpose: Soi Dog Foundation works across Southeast Asia to rescue, neuter, vaccinate, treat, and rehome stray dogs and cats. As well as eliminate the dog and cat meat trade.

Impact: Since 2003, Soi Dog Foundation has neutered and vaccinated over one million dogs and cats, operates mobile rescue and treatment teams, cares for more than 1,800 animals at its sanctuary in Phuket, and has directly influenced animal welfare laws in Thailand while providing adoption and education programs across the region.
